Laura Lynch, a founding member of the country new music group the Dixie Chicks, died on Friday in a car or truck crash in Texas. She was 65.
The demise was verified by Nikol Endres, a justice of the peace in the region.
Ms. Lynch, of Fort Truly worth, was driving east on Route 62 in the vicinity of Cornudas, Texas, about 70 miles east of El Paso, when a pickup truck that had been heading west crossed into her lane and struck her pickup truck head on, the Texas Section of Community Basic safety said. She was pronounced useless at the scene.
Following becoming elevated on her grandfather’s ranch in Texas, Lynch, a bassist, founded the Dixie Chicks, now identified as the Chicks, in Dallas in 1988 with Robin Lynn Macy, and two sisters, Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire.
The unique lineup only had two albums together: the debut “Thank Heavens for Dale Evans” in 1990 and “Little Ol’ Cowgirl” in 1992.
In an interview with Nationwide Public Radio in 1992, Ms. Lynch referred to the band’s audio as “cowgirl music.”
“Our brand of cowgirl songs is a mixture of previous-time state songs, bluegrass music, acoustic,” she reported. “We all sing a few-section and four-aspect harmony. We toss in some instrumentals, some place swing. That is our brand of cowgirl audio.”
Ms. Macy remaining the band in 1992. The upcoming year, the remaining trio produced “Shouldn’t A Instructed You That,” and started to knowledge moderate accomplishment. In 1993, the band performed at an inaugural ball for President Bill Clinton.
But in 1995, Ms. Lynch was dismissed from the team and changed by Natalie Maines.

On social media, the Chicks named Ms. Lynch a “bright light” whose “infectious strength and humor gave a spark to the early days of our band.”

After leaving the Dixie Chicks, Ms. Lynch turned a community relations officer with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, according to The Star-Telegram.
